It has been some time since I have been able
to look after this site. For now I plan to
keep the tour sked updated. And hopefullly
soon, I will be able to rebuild the site.
I have been somewhat remiss in updating over the
last month. Life and work just get away from you
sometimes. Anyway here are a few new items.
I got a note the other day
from someone who used one of my old
wallpapers. I have not made any new ones for a
while but I've added a couple of new
ones that are inspired by the new CD.
How retro!!
There's a half-hour show on BYUtv called "The
Song that Changed My Life" that recently
featured Dar Williams. It offers some great
insight into Dar's career, as well as a
glimpse of her home and family. And the
videography is quite delightful.
Dar wrote a blog post on Huffington Post
about bee
gardens.
Dar's also put together a new video for "As
Cool As I Am" supporting woman's women's
rights. I will not be afraid of women!
It's quite moving!
That's it for today. More soon.

Dar discusses In the Time of Gods
with American Songwriter
May 21, 2012
I
saw Dar in Carrboro, N.C. a few days ago and
she shared the news that she'll be playing at
the Stan Rogers Music Festival in Nova Scotia
this year. If you've not been to Nova Scotia,
it's absolutely gorgeous and this festival is
one of the best in Canada. So that along with
a few other ports of call have been added to
the tour schedule.
After the Carrboro show, I must give a big
shout out the Milk
Carton Kids. They were fabulous. Get
some of their music pronto! That's them on the
right with Dar at the show on May 18, 2012.
As well, Ellery will
be opening the shows in Louisville and
Cincinnati.
Listen to
Dar Williams In Concert from Delaware
playing songs from her new album. Part of
NPR's Live Fridays from XPN series.
Dar's added her voice to 98 others on a
protest album called Occupy This Album. She
breaks out one of my classic faves: Play the
Greed. It's available on iTunes and $9.99 for
99 songs is a pretty good deal.
Updates to the discography
page (which I know needs some work!) and
the music page.
Dar stopped by Relix Magazine's office a few
months back and recorded a live version of her
song "I Have Been A Round The World." It was
posted May 4.

Dar Williams' "I Am The One Who Will
Remember Everything" is eMusic's
FREE daily download of the day. Head over to
their website to listen and download away!
A few new additions of new interviews to the
library.
Small update to the discography with the
release of In the Time of Gods.
April 13, 2012
Cool interview with Eben Shapiro from the
Wall Street Journal (!) All I have to say is
who didn't have a crush on Hermes AND
Encyclopedia Brown when they were kids?!
There's also an interview from the WSJ
and some other articles that have been
added to the library.
Here's the
link for the podcast for Dar's
segment on WNYC's Soundcheck
yesterday. Bryn Roberts is on
keyboards! They perform Crystal Creek,
I Am The One Who Will Remember
Everything, and I Have Been Around The
World. Obviously, there's also
chatting!

Great excitement as In the Time of
Gods comes out in just a week. I've
had a chance to listen to it and I will say,
it's a strong offering. There are a few
brilliant songs with lots of layers that keep
evolving every time I listen. I look forward
to hearing what others have to say about it.
A few new articles have been added to the library.
Seattle fans, Dar will be doing an in-store
performance at Silver Platters on April 21.
Check the media
appearances page for some upcoming radio
appearances as well. (Thanks
to Thomas R. for the alerts)
The tour
schedule has been updated to fill in
some blanks and also add some supporting acts
for a few of the shows.

I have a bunch of new additions to the
library but they are not up yet. Will do them
soon.
November 20, 2011
I chatted with Dar a bit before her show in
Toronto last week and shot a bit of video in
which she offers up a teaser for her upcoming
(as yet untitled) new release expected in the
spring with a bit of a new song. Excuse all
the background noise, they were closing up the
bar, and enjoy!
A whack of additions to the library. Dar's been
busy talking to lots of media lately. I'll
have something more on the new release and
other tidbits from our chat posted shortly.
Updates to the tour
schedule with dates coming up for 2012
already.
September 22, 2011

building bee gardens. Follow her adverntures
on her new tumblr

July 24,

Again, it has been some time for updates.
Apologies. Life getting the best of me and
all!! But the cool news is that Dar is
going on tour with Joan Osborne for two weeks
in September. Check the tour sked to
see if there is a date near you!
You can hear the audio of Dar`s set at the
XPoNential Festival on July 23 here.
It includes a song from her forthcoming
release and a cute little verse about a
lightening bug from The Island Musical for kids
that she is working on. There are also
pictures of her set here.
Video

The
Babysitter performance here.
Thanks to Tom R for the links.
Dars management is looking for some
enthusiastic individuals to join Dar's Street
Team, specifically for the upcoming CT, NY and

the musical. They've been duly archived in the
library.

New dates added to the tour schedule
including one in Toronto! Yay. It's been a
while. And I'll only have to drive across
town, not across borders.
Dar recently announced the dates/locations

who'll get to see them.

On July 17, a children's musical Dar has
written called The Island Musical will be
workshopped at Vassar College's 2011 Powerhouse
Theater season. The show is a musical
fable about a faraway island whose inhabitants
must confront the forces which threaten their
magical home, and come together to protect
their beloved island.

It was Dar's birthday a few days ago. To
celebrate, I'm sure, a whole slew of new
concert dates have been announced. Find them
on the tour
schedule page. Note, nothing near
Toronto (Ann Arbor is still 5 hours away!!)
Dar still has the call out to camps to
request a visit from her. An intrepid youth
from Camp Kadimah near Halifax, N.S., made this
great video request and posted it to
Dar's Facebook page. He rewrote the lyrics to
Party Generation and plays and sings it.
Fantastic. I hope they get a visit!
April 4,
2011
So today Dar announced that she wants to
visit and play at some summer camps this year
and invites her fans, camp counsellors, and
camp directors to request that she come and
play at their camp. Go here
to make your request.

Yipes, it's been some time since I have been able
to update the site. Life sure gets in the way
sometimes. But I'm back and hope to be doing
a bit of work on the site over the next little
while.
For now, I've started by updating the tour schedule
and hopefully over the next few weeks some
good stuff will come in. But it is exciting
that Dar will be playing at the Newport Folk
Fest on July 30!
