- Dar will be at the opening of the Habitat for Artists
exhibit at Spire
Studios, 45 Beekman Street, Beacon, NY, on May 17th. For more

- The benefit concert at which Dar and Pete Seeger performed
last Sunday in Rosendale, NY for folk singer and labour activist Utah
Phillips raised $5,800. Phillips is undergoing cardiac rehabilitation
therapy and can no longer perform to earn a living.
- If you weren't able to make it to Dar's performance in
Northampton recently, you can experience a bit of it on the blog
of one fan who has a short video
of Dar performing When I was a boy, which was written while she
lived in NoHo.
- Dar's not done a ton of newspaper interviews in the last
while but there were a few words from her in the Northampton newspaper
before the show there a couple of weeks ago. Story is in the library.

- Dar's guitar raised $3,850 for the Institute for Musical
Arts. Way to go "47danbury", I hope you have loads of fun playing it!
- The deadline for the Dar birthday project fast approaches.

- Just a reminder for guitar lovers that Dar's Huss &
Dalton, used for The Green World Tour, goes up for auction either
tomorrow (or perhaps the next day) on eBay
as part of a fundraiser for the Institute for Musical Arts. So if
you've ever wanted to own a sweet little guitar, now's your chance (and
you get to help a good cause to boot!).

to the tour schedule.

- There's a slew of photos from Dar's past that have just
been posted on darwilliams.com
along with some captions written by Dar. A load of them are in the
dw.net gallery but there are also a bunch that aren't here and I don't
think many people have seen before.

- A whole whack of new dates added to the tour schedule including two summer
fests: Falcon Ridge in New York and the Edmonton Folk Festival in
Alberta.
- Dar has given her Huss & Dalton guitar to the Institute
for the Musical Arts as part of its fundraising auctions on e-bay. It
will be going up for auction next month. More details on the News page.

- Sally Heaven has once again launched the official Dar
Birthday Project, in which Dar fans pledge to do community work and
other civic minded activities in honour of Dar's birthday on April 19.

- Dar's Obama fundraiser has been rescheduled to Wed. Feb. 20
at 6:30 p.m. on Manhattan's Upper West Side.
- According to the Politicker blog from the New York
Observer, Senator Bill Bradley will be at the event hosted by Chana
& Cliff Chenfeld
and Myrna & Steve Greenberg. Tickets are $2,300 and $1,000. Read

- Well Dar fans, it is true that YouTube is a
phenomonen! Dar is everywhere and I've added a slew of links to
concert footage -- some vintage coffeehouse stuff from 1991 -- and fan
videos -- some of which are quite out of the ordinary -- to both the music and fan pages.
Hours of fun for those who seek out the
graphic on those pages. If you see or hear of new videos drop me a line
so I can add them.
- On his MySpace
page, singer Stuart Ferguson has posted a duet called "Something
New" that he recorded with Dar in May 1991.
- In other news, sources (and you know who you are!) say Dar
has recorded most of the songs for her new CD and is in the process of
refining and making it fabulous. Stayed tuned for details.

First post of 2008!!
- Okay, there's nothing much to say but I thought I better
make my presence known so you don't all think I've disappeared. Word is
that Dar is in the processing of preparing her new album. That's all I
know for now.

Lincoln Centre last month.
- A new date added to the tour
schedule for October 2008 - nothing so far between February and
then but Dar is working on a new CD!
- Also updated the link to Starman on the music page as it was taken down from where it
had been living. It's now residing on darwilliams.net (but space is
filling up fast). If you've not heard Dar's version of Starman, take a
listen, I love it.

beginning of the program, about 3:30 in to the 20 minute program.
- MEDIA
ALERT: WUMB will be airing the edition of "Mountain Stage" that
featured Dar, as well as Rodney Crowell, Kasey Chambers, James
McMurtry, and Laura Cantrell. It will be broadcast at 7:00 P.M. on
Wednesday night. WUMB can be found at www.wumb.org

- This was apparently announced a few weeks ago but I missed
it: Dar will perform at the Lincoln Center Christmas Tree Lighting
ceremony
on the evening of November 26, 2007. She will perform a Christmas
song
from the portico of Avery Fisher Hall. If you can't make it
there in person (9,000 people are expected!!), the lighting and
performance will be broadcast in the New York metro area on WABC. Here's

will be appearing on the music television network CONCERT.TV
from November 15 to November 30. CONCERT.TV is a FREE to view on
demand television network that programs memorable performances,
compelling documentaries and unique originals for subscribers of
Comcast, Cox, Insight, Charter and many other digital cable services in
the U.S.
To check for availability of CONCERT.TV on your local cable service,
look in the on demand listings or visit them online. (I'm not at all
sure how this works but I'm sure if you've used it, you know!)
- There's a wrapup of all the Dar live DVD parties on Dar's
MySpace blog.

- Good news for audiophiles. Dar's record label Razor and Tie
has signed on with MusicGiants, which offers high-res audio downloads.

- As below, you can get Live at Bearsville fairly cheaply at
Amazon, but it's only $9.99 on iTunes (at least at the Canadian iTunes
store) and you can get an iTunes exclusive extra track - Iowa.

- I'm back from vacation . . . still not a ton going on but
I'm back on the job!!

for $11.19 or $13.29 at Amazon.ca.

- Nothing new but dates cleared up on the tour schedule. I'm on a new computer so
I still have to sort out my backup situation, thus the lengthy out of
