  Dar will be interviewed by Hendrick Hertzberg of the New Yorker on September 28 at 9:00pm at Joe's Pub at the Public Theatre (425 Lafayette St.).  Tickets are $20 and can be purchased from Tele-Charge  (212-239-6200) or the Public Theatre box office. • This little blurb ran in the Sunday Los Angeles Times:

    "Singer-songwriter Dar Williams tapped several stars of the jam-band scene to help out on her next album, "Beauty of the Rain," due from Razor & Tie Records in February. Violinists Stefan Lessard (Dave Matthews Band) and Mike Kang (String Cheese Incident), harmonica player John Popper (Blues Traveler) and organist John Medeski (Medeski, Martin & Wood) are on board, along with fusion banjo picker Bela Fleck and bluegrass fiddler Alison Krauss...."   Thanks to Paul Friedman for the news.

• New dates for December added to the tour schedule.

• Mike Connors took some great shots of Dar at the Newport Folk Festival a few weeks ago. You can find them in the updated sections of the gallery.

• There was an article in yesterday's New York Times magazine called Queer as Folk about lesbians and folk music. It's long  . . . Dar is interviewed somewhere near the bottom. You have to register (free) to read the New York Times online.
• Update to the tour scheudle.

• The lyrics for the new song Mercy of the Fallen have been posted to the new songs section on the music page. Any changes/corrections are always welcome.

• New tour date added for November.

• The intrepid Simona Loberant has come up with the answer to the Pittsburgh radio interview. The interview will air Tuesday, August 20th at 3:05 p.m. during Rosemary's Afternoon Mix. You can listen to WYEP at 93.1 in Pittsburgh or online at wyep.org.
• Some updates and fixes to the library.
• And a get well soon wish to Sharong and Suzi who had a car accident on the way to merch at Dar's show in King of Prussia yesterday. They're both fine but sharong has a broken arm. The hero of the day was Sharon Girlock!

• So I gather there was no Dar on the radio on Saturday. She did tape an interview at WYEP in Pittsburgh but the radio station sent out wrong info on the broadcast time. When I know, you'll know, when it will run.

WYEP 93.1 FM in Pittsburgh just announced that Dar will be live in the studio on Saturday at noon.  Here is the blurb from WYEP's website: Tune in Saturday Aug. 10 at noon for an interview with Dar Williams right after the weekly Cover Dish with Dinah Denmark. WYEP broadcasts live on the web at wyep.org. So, anyone can listen!     Thanks to Scott Antall for the alert.
• Update to the tour schedule.

• After someone sent me a correction to make on Dar's bio, I realized that of all the things on the site, it's the one I forgot to update (since 2000!). That issue has now been rectified and if anyone is interested, it's been updated to the present. It's stored in the library.
