Well
this is one happy, tired, and wickedly sick webmaster returning from a whirlwind
trip to New York City for The Beauty of the Rain release show. And it was
fabulous. Keep your eyes here for some pix, and maybe more, of the event.
In the meantime, on with the news and there's a bit.
- MEDIA ALERT:
Chicago fans: you can still get FREE tickets
to see Dar and Kasey Chambers taping a show on Friday February 21st for the
PBS series "Soundstage" to air this summer on Channe11 WTTW in Chicago and
nationally on PBS. If you'd like to attend intimate show, call the Soundstage
hotline at 773-279-2111. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served
basis. Dar will be with her full, great band so go if you can. Did I mention,
it's free!
- Fixed up some links on the Play with Dar page.
- If
you buy the BOTR at Borders, you can get a free Razor and Tie sampler that
has a thus-far unreleased track: a cover of John Lennon's Imagine (and
I wouldn't say no, if someone were to say, make it possible for me to hear
this since I'm living in a Borders-free country).
- Update to the tour schedule
- Note from Dar's manager Ron Fierstein about future tour dates:
- L.A. - I can guarantee you
Southern left coasters that there will be an LA show - most likely at the
beautiful outdoor John Anson Ford Amphitheater
on Saturday, May 17. This should be confirmed shortly and announced
thereafter. This is a larger venue than last time, so we need to
work hard to turn out the masses to fill it up. Should be a
wonderful evening. - Nashville - as for the
music capital, Dar will be doing a special solo appearance at 3rd &
Lindley as part of the WRLT Sunday night series there - that will be on March
23rd. As this is the first album that has received serious support
from radio in Nashville, I see this appearance as a step towards making
Nashville a potential stop on the tour with the band. If we get the
kind of turnout for this show that I'm hoping for, the chances are good
that we will do a show in late May at the Belcourt Theater on the band
tour. But again, we have to have a good turnout on 3/23.
