- First and foremost, I urge all my
fellow Canadians to go out and exercise your democratic right to vote.
This is a particularly important election for our country and every
vote counts!!
- The Nov. 21 Stamford co-bill with
Shawn Colvin is back on. All conflicts have been resolved and the show
will go on. Sounds fantastic! The
tour schedule has been updated accordingly.
- RAINN, the organization founded by Tori Amos - Rape, Abuse
and Incest National Network - is issuing a CD in honour of its 10th
anniversary. It features Dar performing the live version of ACAIA,
along with songs by Tori, Indigo Girls, and Ben Taylor among others.
If you order your cd before July 27th, you will get it at the special
pre-order price of US$9.99. After July 27th, the cd will be available
for

- A songbook called Women In
Rock: Guitar Style, which
has instructions, sheet music, tablature, and a
CD describing the guitar playing of a bunch of women artists of
various styles and time periods. Included are Sarah McClachlan, Joni
Mitchell, Shawn Colvin, Ani DiFranco, Tracy Chapman, and Dar. The
author is Karen Hogg, and it's published by the National
Guitar Workshop.

- I've also had a chance to look at the DVD-Audio releases of
Beauty of the Rain and The Green World, both of which are quite fun.
The Green World one is especially cool because it has some footage of
Dar and the band rehearsing for the tour, a rare behind-the-scenes
glimpse of Dar. Beauty of the Rain has a great collection of fan
photos, including a couple from your friendly neighbourhood webmistress
: ) I believe the official release date of the discs is tomorrow.

with Shawn Colvin has been removed from the tour schedule as the date
has not actually been firmed up yet.

- Dar is included on a CD called Live from the Bardavon, Vol.
I. It's a live compilation of performances at the Bardavon Opera
House in Poughkeepsie, NY. Dar sings February from a 1999 show she did
